The Danish Namahage Association was invited to perform at Tokyo Kitchen – a small, cozy place and one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Jutland. All the food is prepared by Japanese housewives living in the Aarhus area, and we recommend it to anyone who enjoys authentic Japanese cuisine!

The Namahage came in through the front door from the cold streets and warmed up the room with a thorough interrogation of all guests.
A few guests had their names listed in the Namahage register, and you can bet they were thoroughly interrogated before the Namahage called it a night.
The restaurant owners were also questioned about whether they get the food prepared on time and whether the prices are fair. (Which we gladly confirmed was indeed the case.)

At the end, there was a bit of time to take a photo with the Namahage, so all guests can remember to behave themselves in the future!
And of course, no visit from the Namahage is truly complete without a lecture about the costume, the ritual, and the folk tale behind it all.

Thank you to our generous hosts from Tokyo Kitchen and all guests who came to meet the Namahage!
